After an unparalleled track record of commercial developments in Europe over the past eight years, AIG/Lincoln has recently expanded its product base to deliver a new development concept approach to shopping environments, the Market Central shopping center.

Market Central is the next generation of shopping center development following the explosion of hypermarket and regional enclosed mall developments that have occurred in Europe over the past 20 years. The Market Central concept is based on the “Town Center” format, which has become predominant in the United Kingdom and the United States during that period.

As a complement to the “big box” and western style “mall” developments, Market Central offers a return to the traditional urban and village shopping environments. Whether developed as a community shopping center or retail park, Market Central projects are designed to provide an immediate convenient location, ground-level storefront shops and direct access from a common parking area. The average size of a Market Central project is approx. 20,000 square meters ( 215,280 square feet ) with the land dimensions usually double or even triple that size.

In addition these centers provide the typical amenities found in a modern shopping center venue, such as a varied mix of stores for one-stop shopping, public space for meeting and civic activities, and a safe, secure environment.

The centers are usually anchored by two to three major regional, national or international tenants depending on the size of the particular center. Due to its excellent relationships with most of the major retailers in Europe as well as its established local presence in the various European markets, AIG/Lincoln is able to guarantee access to a strong tenant base.

Completion of a Market Central project takes approximately 12 months on average.
