AIG/LINCOLN GERMANYOne of first ventures in Germany was a residential project with approx.
250 apartments in Berlin-Spandau. It was completed in 1995 and sold by
the end of 1996. Much of the success of this first project was due to
the expertise of AIG/Lincoln’s shareholder Lincoln Property Company,
one of the largest residential real estate developers in the USA.
This positive beginning led to the commencement of a townhouse project
in Greifswald in 1997. This development was carried out by a subsidiary
of AIG/Lincoln Properties called A&L Stadthaus Gesellschaft für
Neues Wohnen mbH & Co. KG, and consisted of a total of 42
residential units which were all sold to private end-users.
In 2000 AIG/Lincoln completed a reconstruction of the Kuwait Embassy
and the new construction of associated residential facilities for
Embassy staff in Berlin.
In 2003 the first “built-to-suit” building in Germany was delivered to IBM.
In 2004 AIG/Lincoln expanded its product base to include Pan-European
retail developments. The newly developed project and design concept is
the Market Central shopping center, offering a return to the
traditional urban and village shopping environment – with ground-level
storefront shops and direct access from a common parking area in urban
and suburban locations.
